Graphic detailing the start of the Kettle campaign

Christmas is just around the corner, and with it comes our largest fundraising effort of the year: the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign.

Running from November 13 to December 24, the Kettle Campaign raises vital funds to support the programs and services that help individuals and families in need throughout our community. What began in 1891 in the United States arrived in Canada in 1903, and today more than 2,000 Salvation Army kettles operate in nearly 400 communities across the country each Christmas season.

Here in Kamloops, you can find our kettles at Sarah's Independent Grocer, Safeway, Save-On-Foods, FreshCo, Superstore, Walmart, Aberdeen Mall, and London Drugs. During December, additional kettles will be located at the BC Liquor Stores on the North Shore and in Sahali, and beginning December 10, you will also find a kettle at Costco.

Donations of cash and cheques are accepted at all kettle locations, and most kettles are equipped with convenient TipTap devices for credit card donations.

Our Kettle Campaign would not be possible without the dedication of more than 180 volunteers who generously give their time throughout the holiday season. Volunteers sign up for two-hour shifts to greet shoppers, share warm holiday wishes, hand out candy canes, assist donors, and help spread Christmas cheer throughout our city.

There are two simple ways you can support the Kettle Campaign:

  • Volunteer for a kettle shift and help make a difference in your community.
  • Donate at one of our 12 kettle locations throughout Kamloops.

Every donation helps provide practical assistance, food support, and hope to individuals and families who need it most.
