Coats for Folks
Once a year in the fall we run our Coats for Folks program. At that time we look forward to receiving and then distributing gently loved warm winter coats for those who need them most. We will post on social media and our website when the program starts running.
Adopt a Family
At Christmas time we work alongside families struggling to provide Christmas for their children. We take applications for those needing support and match them with a family, organization, business, church, etc. that wants to Adopt a Family. We give these generous donors the children’s wish lists, and they make sure each child experiences a magical Christmas.
Local businesses and service groups also work with us to provide Christmas dinner hampers and gift cards to families, seniors, and individuals.
Because of this nearly 400 children excitedly open gifts each year and 300 families, couples and individuals can sit down to a delicious dinner. The gifts and food hampers are received with smiles and often tears of happiness.
If you would like to help support this annual program, please contact our Resource Centre Coordinator (250) 554-1611 ext. 206.
