About The Salvation Army Kamloops Church & Resource Centre
Our story
The Salvation Army in Kamloops first opened its doors in 1915, and since then, we’ve grown through many chapters—different officers, several addresses, and even various SalMarts (Thrift Stores)—before settling into our current home on Poplar Street. Our building was expanded in the 1970s, and in 2024, we proudly completed our most recent renovation project.
Throughout the decades, both our facilities and our services have continued to evolve in response to the changing needs of our community and our capacity to serve. What has never changed is our commitment to welcoming you into a place where people of all ages can find support, connection, and hope. Today, we offer programs for families, children and youth, men, women, and seniors. We gather for worship and Sunday School every Sunday, and we host a variety of small groups that meet regularly throughout the week.
